About The Designer
Zaziba Studio is an Independent Australian fashion label making cool easy-to-wear clothing, that blends hand-drawn art with thoughtfully designed collections.
South African-born fashion designer and artist Verity Joy Wilson, creates original artworks, textile prints and designs in-house.
"I want my Zaziba collections to be wearable with past and present ranges, colours flowing like a stream, silhouettes meeting like old friends."
Zaziba Studio is based in Mollymook Beach, on the South Coast of NSW, Australia.
About the name:
Zaziba is a word used by my grandmother for the cloth in the kitchen - an item that is woven into all our lives.
My aim is to make designs that weave connection and joy into your daily life.

Every piece is designed at our studio on the South Coast, and we work with small production partners who share our values.
We’re not perfect, but we’re proud to run a business that’s thoughtful and growing with our customers.
With each purchase, Zaziba Studio donates one meal to a school child in South Africa, via The Lunchbox Fund.
We are proud of our "Good: 4 out of 5" rating on www.goodonyou.eco
PRODUCTION -
ZAZIBA is produced in Bali, Indonesia, Shanghai, China and Zhongshan, China.
I've been working with my Bali sewing collective for over 9 years and have visited the factory many, many times to observe safe and fair working conditions. Tailors are able to work at the factory or take work home to sew in their own time.
I do not have strict delivery schedules meaning that the workers aren't forced to do overtime to meet deadlines.
The wonderful Chinese factories I have been working with for over 5 years are both SMETA Audited factory - with a third party Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit certificate.
I understand art takes time, and I respect the incredible craftspeople who bring Zaziba to life.

NOTES -
I was once told that I’m too sentimental (it was actually directed as an insult), but I love that I am, because I feel that being sentimental means I care about the little things; those tiny details that make a favourite garment so special.
Making clothes completes me. I love the feeling of fabric, imagining the possibilities of a small piece of cotton, developing a new design out of something I found in a dusty textile shop…
Fitting, tucking, pinning and unpicking until it’s transformed into something completely new, exciting, something unique.
I want to share that passion with you.
